Shark Tank India:
In a recent episode of Shark Tank India, Dilkhush, a resilient entrepreneur from Bihar, captured the attention of the judges with his unwavering determination and innovative approach to business. The young entrepreneur, who had once been rejected for a peon position, showcased his taxi service business, which is now generating a substantial monthly commission of Rs 8 lakh.
Dilkhush’s journey began with rejection, which fueled his entrepreneurial spirit. Recounting the incident, he shared how a job interview for a peon position ended in rejection because he couldn’t identify the Apple logo. Undeterred, he made a life-changing decision, burning his certificates and vowing never to pursue a traditional job. Taking charge of his destiny, he learned to drive from his father, a bus driver, and eventually embarked on his entrepreneurial journey.
His first venture proved successful, earning him an impressive Rs 8 lakh in commission. Dilkhush strategically exited that business, attracting the attention of an investing firm for his next venture—a taxi service provider app named RodBez. Notably, he learned coding on YouTube to design the app’s user interface, showcasing his resourcefulness and determination.
During the Shark Tank pitch, Ritesh Agarwal, founder & CEO of OYO Rooms, expressed admiration for Dilkhush’s “clarity” of thought. Together with Vineeta Singh, they extended an offer of Rs 20 lakh at 5% equity and Rs 30 lakh in debt at 12% interest. Despite suggestions from other judges to continue seeking investments locally, Dilkhush opted for the deal presented by Ritesh and Vineeta.
Dilkhush’s story highlights the power of resilience and innovation, earning him a spot among the success stories on Shark Tank India. The third season, currently streaming on SonyLIV, features a diverse panel of judges, including industry leaders like Deepinder Goyal, Azhar Iqbal, Radhika, Varun Dua, and Ronnie Screwvala, alongside the original panel of Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, and Vineeta Singh.
As Shark Tank India continues to uncover and support entrepreneurial talent, Dilkhush’s journey serves as an inspiring testament to the spirit of determination and ‘jugaad’ in the ever-evolving landscape of Indian entrepreneurship.
